Acra Fyroc

Acra Fyroc, or af, was the calendar system adopted by most after the fall of Kara'tal Empire in 1218pa, due to the Cataclysm. Over the 2 years pa, following that catastrophe, a new calendar system was devised in Quiran, based loosely on the existing Prophet Ascendial system, but instead marks the days passed since the happening of the Cataclysm.

The utterly devastating Cataclysm had marked a shift in the balance of power. Up until that point, the Kara'tal had been a prominent super-power, engaged in trade that spanned multiple continents. Thus, most people knew of, if not used, the Mehndor Prophet Ascendial calendar system. After the Cataclysm, the Mehndor had lost the majority of its clergy. The world's weather patterns had also been dramatically affected. For many years after the Cataclysm, the question on everyone's tongue was:

Where were you on the day the world almost ended?

Thus, the Quirani proposed the Acra Fyroc, a system that the whole world could relate to, regardless of religion, or political affiliation.

Etymology

The name Acra Fyroc comes from the Quirani word acraana, which means to have "smote with". Fyroc was the name given to the Cataclysm.

Thus, Acra Fyroc could be roughly translated to:

Smote with burning rock

It marks the days since the world was acraana Fyroc.
