Makjan
Born in 558af, Makjan (pronounced mahk-yarn) was the father of Naruâl. He was never the chieftain of the Vadr tribe, as he and his father, the reigning chief, were brutally slaughtered by another tribe, the Erok in 593af. He died aged 35, but not before impressing upon his son, Naruâl, a sense of honour, moral duty and compassion.
