Era

The history of Aed'jhelas can be broken down into four main groupings; these are known respectively as the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Era. They mark the periods of time in history which were divided by significant geological, or social, shifts in the world.

First Era

The First Era is more commonly referred to as the Age of Ignorance. Not much is known about this period of history, as it pre-dates writing and more complex societal constructs. It is roughly believed to have lasted 10,000 years, although this is pure guesswork by historians and the actual figure remains unknown.

Second Era

The Second Era was a huge leap in humanity's social development. Proto-societies began to form, magic was discovered and began to be used. The earliest writings of man emerged, recording the use of magic and marking a beginning to the formation of culture, such as art and storytelling. For 7000 years, societies grew and crumbled. The Second Era is often referred to as the The Blossoming of Man, due to the rise of organised community, culture and the discovery of magic.

Third Era

The Third Era began with the Ascension of Mehlos, and lasted for a little more than 1200 years, going by the Prophet Ascendial. It was a period of intense cultural reform and fanaticism driven by the Mehndor religion.

Fourth Era

The Fourth Era is the most recent, and current, era of man. A significant geological event, the Cataclysm marked the beginning of this era, destroying the Kara'tal Empire and most of the Mehndor religion. Based on the new calendar system, Acra Fyroc, the Fourth Era has passed 800 years and is ongoing.
